Patients often want to know what to expect during their visitation. On arrival, medical history is obtained through the paperwork the patient will need to fill out. Dr. Li, along with his closely trained Medical Assistants will then review that history and fill in the details of the patient’s health history during the interview prior to physical exam. The historical review will be a general medical history and a detailed review of symptoms.
Dr. Li completes a physical exam of the foot and ankle.
Four systems as part of this exam:
- The Sensory
- The Skin Quality/Appearance
- The Musculoskeletal System
- The Circulatory
This can be a very general overview when a diagnosis is vague or focused analysis when the problem is more defined.
Dr. Li can further order studies such as x-rays, cultures, blood work or MRI for a more focused diagnosis and treatment. A plan then can be devised on how to solve the problem.
Dr. Li is very good at presenting a menu of options when assessing and solving the problem. These options can be non-surgical or surgical. Dr. Li provides a thorough description of the treatment so that the patient and physician are on the same page with his professional suggestion. Dr. Li will encourage patients to provide input regarding expectations for outcomes to ensure which course of action would best fit their life circumstances. Once the mutual decision on the treatment plan is devised, Dr. Li will supervise progress until it is healed.
